Patriarchal Blessing given to Amy Leone Judd Allen

A Blessing given by Patriarch Orrin M. Snow at Raymond, Alberta, Sept14th, 1941, upon the head of Amy Leone Judd Allen, daughter of George Judd and Margaret Lewis, Born April 19th 1907, at Provo,Utah.

Dear Sister Allen, in the authority of the Holy Melchizedek Priesthood and in the name of Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the world, I seal this blessing upon you, that it may strengthen you in your work, and give you the courage that you need and desire to faithfully fulfill your life's mission.

You are of the lineage of Ephraim, and inasmuch as you seek faithfully for divine guidance and strength and ability to perform any duty placed upon you, the Lord will be mindful of you, and will hear and answer your prayers. Seek knowledge from the best books, be diligent in the service you render. Be faithful to the trust placed upon you, and inasmuch as you magnify your calling, the Lord will magnify you before those with whom you labor.

Seek the counsel of the Priesthood, follow their admonitions, and you will find joy in the labors you perform.

I seal you up against the powers of the adversary until the day of redemption, and according to your faith and your faithfulness, I seal these blessings upon you that you may have eternal life with the redeemed and sanctified of Israel in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen

Mary A. Snow, Scribe

Life Sketch of Amy Leone Judd:

Amy went to schools in Provo and Salt Lake City, receiving a Normal Teaching Certificate from the University of Utah about 1827, specializing in kindergarten work. She married John Leonard Allen on 11 June 1930 in the Salt Lake Temple. They later moved to Raymond, Alberta, Canada, where she died in 1948 after her third child was born.

Because of her exceptional teaching ability, Amy was used mostly as a teacher in the Sunday School, Primary, and YWMIA, both in the ward and the stake. She served as president of the stake YWMIA. Amy had unusual charm and attracted all people to her and all adored her. She developed great skill as an amateur actress in home dramatics, and was known far and wide for her famous comic readings and was recognized, too, as a hostess in a class by herself. She was an excellent cook and homemaker and, as a wife and mother, was unsurpassed. Of such stuff angels are made.
