Note | Patriarchal Blessing given to Margaret J Lewis (volume 82, page 327) 1176 Provo, Utah Jan 30, 1898 A blessing by Patriarch Chas. D. Evans upon the head of Margaret J. Lewis Judd, daut. of William J. Lewis and Jan Lewis, born Provo, Utah May 20th 1873. Sister Margaret. By virtue of the holy priesthood, and in the name of Jesus Christ, I lay my hands upon thy head and seal a blessing upon thee which is patriarchal, as the holy Spirit shall direct, for thou art of royal birth of the house of Ephraim, thy love is stronger than death, and thou wilt win the hearts of thy children. To thy generations there will be no end, for as a growing plant nourished by the dews of heaven, and by the glorious sunlight so shalt thou grow in the knowledge of God, and thy increase be countless, and for thy sacrifices thou shalt have reward. Thy integrity is rooted as the oak and the Lord is pleased with thy life. Eternal wisdom will dwell in thee and thou shalt comfort the sorrowing, thy hand exalt the poor and thy mercy the fallen. I bless thee with the blessings of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, with a strength to endure trial, and to resist temptation. With thy husband thou shalt have eternal inheritance and with thy heirs who will never parish out of the earth Prophets will come out of thee. The spirit of prophecy will be upon thee to unfold the future as a scroll is unfolded after it is rolled together for mighty events of the last days will be laid open to thy vision, and thou shalt see the face of God and dwell in his presence and thy eyes shine as the light and thy tongue be clothed with power to speak the language of angels. I bless thy body that it may be strong to resist disease, and thy mind that it may expand forever. Thou shalt see Zion redeemed and the fullness of the gentiles, a reign of peace, and stand when plague will reap down the earth as the stubble by the flame. I bless thee with the attributes of eternal wisdom that thy light be as the shining sun. Thou shalt have food and raiment, and see the treasures of the (____) opened, and thy house have abundance and nothing temporal or spiritual for thy glory will be withheld. Thou shalt see Judah gathered and the law of God prevail and kings bow to the scepter of Zion and be a queen of thy dominions, and stand with the great mothers of Zion when the mountains are removed with the redeemed and with thy Savior, and I seal thee up unto eternal life in the name of Jesus Christ - Amen. |
